Tom Hanks leaves Trump supporters outraged with shocking SNL appearance
During the show’s 50th anniversary special, Hanks’ Saturday Night
Live spoof was included.
Hanks’s performance on the 50th
anniversary special of Saturday Night Live that featured his ‘Doug’ character
wearing a MAGA hat, followers of Donald Trump have been enraged.
On Sunday, February 16, celebrities
from all around the world traveled to New York City to congratulate Saturday
Night Live on reaching a significant birthday milestone.
In order to commemorate the fifty-year anniversary of the sketch comedy, a large number of celebrities, including Meryl Streep, Martin Short, Jack Nicholson, and Aubrey Plaza, were present at the event.
Hanks was also present for the
celebration, and the actor made an appearance in a sketch that has been the
subject of some controversy among those who are in favor of President Trump.
As he portrayed the role of Doug on
the parody game show known as Black Jeopardy, the actor who originated the
character of Forrest Gump wore a red cap that read “Make America Great Again.”
Kenan Thompson, the host of the spoof
show, attempted to shake Doug’s hand through the course of the act; however,
Doug originally declined to do so.
In the end, Doug did make the sign of
greeting, but before he did so, he said, “Don’t like that, whoa, whoa, whoa.
It’s possible that I’ll call it “White Jeopardy,” and I’ll launch a show
specifically for you to appear on.
There have been a lot of people who
support Trump taking to Twitter after the sketch was broadcast, and it is safe
to assume that the vast majority of them are not impressed.
A tweet stated that Tom Hanks appeared
on Saturday Night Live dressed as a slob and made fun of millions of people who
support Donald Trump by depicting them as stupid, racist, and rednecks.
“Libs, keep up the good work. There is
no way that you will ever win another election.
Link Lauren, who had previously served
as an assistant to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stated that Tom Hanks had just been
on Saturday Night Live wearing a MAGA hat for a short period of time, during
which he acted as if he did not want to shake the hand of a black guy.
“The writers of this show are
perplexed as to why their ratings are so low. The popular vote went to Donald
Trump.
The cliche that the Democratic Party
of America is racist is revolting. SNL is a show that is not entertaining and
is aimed toward snooty liberal elites.
In its current form, the Republican
Party is a large-scale coalition that is comprised of a large number of former
Democrats. Adieu, Saturday Night Live!
“No one in the audience laughs as Tom
Hanks appears on Saturday Night Live as a racist Trump supporter that refuses
to shake hands with a black man,” wrote a third Trump supporter, while another
Trump supporter noted, “This makes me mad.
” Tonight on Saturday Night Live, Tom
Hanks appeared in a spoof as a MAGA bigot. In the skit, Hanks visibly recoils
as a black game show host reaches out to shake hands with him.
